Create a recurring task
A recurring task automatically repeats based on the schedule you set. Instead of creating the same task manually each time, SNDQ generates new task instances for you. This helps you handle important operational work consistently across your portfolio — for example annual inspections, semi-annual maintenance checks, or quarterly follow-ups.
Step-by-step guide

Schedule examples
Use Repeat every to set the interval:
| What you need | Repeat every | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| Every year | 1 | year |
| Every 6 months (semi-annual) | 6 | month |
| Every quarter | 3 | month |
| Every month | 1 | month |
| Every 2 weeks | 2 | week |
| Every week (specific days) | 1 | week — then pick days under Repeat on |
TIP
If the task should stop automatically, set Ends to On a date or Amount of times.
How recurrence works
Once you save a recurring task, SNDQ keeps generating new task instances based on your schedule. You do not need to recreate the task manually each time.
When is the next task created?
- When you close the current task — closing a recurring task instance triggers the next one (if the schedule has not ended).
- On the scheduled date — if the current task is still open when the next date arrives, SNDQ creates the next instance automatically (checked daily).
Important to know
- The next task date is calculated from the execution date of the current instance, not from the day you close the task.
- Example: a yearly task with execution date 1 January 2026 → the next instance is scheduled for 1 January 2027, regardless of when you close the 2026 task.
- If you close the current task early, the next instance may appear sooner than the next calendar due date. That is expected.
- To stop recurrence, set Ends to On a date or Amount of times, or delete the recurring task template.
